The Kitchen is a creative company based in Leiden, Netherlands, led by artistic director Jamie de Groot. With his company HE WORK TOGETHER WITH ARTISTS TO GIVE THEM the chance to dive into the magic of creation and creativity. Giving the space to explore, experience, collaborate or join projects, GIVE classes OR WORKSHOPS.

why the name the kitchen?

jAMIE: i WANTED TO HAVE A NAME FOR THE FEELING I HAVE OF SHARING STORIES, CREATIVITY AND BRINGING NEW IDEAS TO THE TABLE. I WAS RAISED IN AN OPEN CREATIVE FAMILY. I LEARED THE WAYS TO CELEBRATE LIVE AND SHARING NICE EVENINGS WITH GOOD FOOD AND LOVING PEOPLE, THE KITCHEN BECAME THE PLACE OR THE STARTING POINT OF CONNECTION, ENJOYMENT AND PLEASURE. I ALSO NOTICED THAT EVERY PARTY I WENT TO ALWAYS ENDED UP IN THE KITCHEN. THE MOST DEEP STORIES OR IDEAS WERE DISCUSSED IN THAT SPECIFIC AREA OF A HOUSE. tHE KITCHEN BECAME THE PLACE WHAT MAKES US HUMAN AND BRINGS US TOGETHER. WHAT NEW TASTES ARE MADE IN THE KITCHEN AND WHAT CAN WE COOK?

VISION

The Kitchen is a company that focusses on the source of creation. The magic that lights up our inner child and the stories that makes us human, the universal emotion that makes us in awe of life and connects us to a deeper unspoken level.

CREATION

The Kitchen creates multidisciplinairy projects that let their audience immerse into magical immaginary worlds. These projects can vairy from immersive performances, installations, expositions or films. BES
